Flawless Base and Glamorous Red Lip Look with Chinutay

Find out how to create a flawless base and a gorgeous red lip look with this tutorial by YouTuber and make-up artist, Chinutay.

Step 1: Skin

Prep and Prime

Prep and Prime

We start with the skin. You have to make sure you’re prepped and primed. I start with the Lancôme La Base Pore Eraser. It’s my favourite. I love this because it just makes my skin and the base looks poreless. I don’t like seeing texture and this makes it look like you’ve got good skin.

Take it and then I start off around the nose because this is where I have the most amount of texture. Then I apply some to my chin and I take whatever’s left over to go over the centre of my face.

Foundation

Next, I like to put on some foundation. I’m going in with the Lancôme Teint Idole Ultra Wear in shade 050. I like this because it has a golden undertone and I like to go a little warmer with my foundation.

A trick I learned recently is to add a little bit of the Génifique Serum to make this matte foundation into more of a dewy and glowy finish. Mix it all up with the All Foundation Brush and apply it. I avoid going under my eyes because I like to take the concealer for that, and do spot concealing.

Concealer

Concealer

This is the Teint Idole Ultra Wear Camouflage Concealer in shade 360 Bisque. Measure out the amount you need on the back of your hand. When applying concealer under the eyes, you want to dab. You don’t want to drag because it’s a sensitive area.

I like to conceal around my lips too because I tend to have hyperpigmentation in that area. It's also great for a bright lip, it creates a blank canvas and helps the lip pop.

Contour

Contour

I love the new Lancôme Teint Idole Ultra Foundation Stick, it’s like butter on your skin and it blends flawlessly. I use the shade 10 Praline to contour. I apply it directly under the cheek bone, some on my chin and under the nose. I dot it around my forehead then I blend it all in with the All Foundation Brush.

Highlight

Highlight

For the highlight, I use the Teint Idole Ultra Foundaiton Stick in shade Beige Châtaigne 048. I apply it on the top of my cheekbones, in the area under my eye, on the cupid’s now, on the top of my nose, and in between the eyebrows. Then blend it all in with the same All Foundation Brush. It makes me look like I’ve slept last night.

Powder and Bronze

Powder and Bronze

Now what I do is I set the makeup with Belle de Teint powder using the Cheek and Contour Brush.

For Bronzer, I am going to use shade 07 which is slightly darker on the same brush to bronze up my skin a little. I also use the bronzer as a brush, it is a more natural, softer alternative and it adds more warmth to your cheeks.

Step 2: Eyes

Eyebrows

Eyebrows

I’m using Monsieur Big Brow in Chestnut to lightly go over the ends of my eyebrows. I used to like a really bold brow, but I’m now I’m really feeling the softer brow.

Next I’m going to take the Double-Ended Brush and to blend. A really cool trick that I do is I bring my brows together. I make an angry face and carve out the ends so when you relax your brow, it gives you a sharper end. Take a spoolie, brush your eyebrows upwards to make them look fluffy.

Next, I’m going in with the Sourcil Styler and lightly brush my brows upwards with it. I like that feathered look, it’s very high-fashion.

Eyeshadow

Take your foundation brush and brush it over your eyelids. Then take the bronzy colour on the left of this smokey Hypnôse Palette and wash it all over your lids and close to the lower lash line.

Next, I’m going to go in with this darker colour in the middle and put it on my outer corner area. This adds a little bit of smoke to the eye look, smoky shimmer. I’m going to take a clean blending brush and just blend that in.

A cool trick that I like to do is to take some Belle de Teint bronzer, the same bronzer I put on, and run this down my crease as well. It just meshes everything together.

Next, I’m going to go in with smallest bit of black eyeshadow and run it gently down my lash line to add a little bit of a smoke like an eyeliner. I’m going to take whatever’s left over, run this down my bottom lash line.

Finally, I’m going to go in with the lightest colour on a small brush and add this right to the inner corners to brighten up my eye. Take the same colour under the brow bone with my finger for a nice glow. A little bit on the tip of my nose and my cupid’s bow too.

Mascara

Next, we’re going to apply some mascara. I have some lash extensions on so I’m going to skip the mascara on the top, but I’m going to apply some mascara on the bottom. Monsieur Big Mascara is my current favourite.

Step 3: The Lips

Liner

Liner

Onto the lips, my favourite part. We’re going take the red Lancôme Le Lip Liner. I like to fill in my entire lip and I like to overline.

One tip, moisturise your lips first with some lip balm before you start your make up.

Lipstick

That’s key, now we’re going to go on with the red L'Absolu Rouge Lipstick in 123 Caprice. It’s so pretty, and it complements the soft eyes so nicely and the bronzed skin.
