How should I adapt my face makeup routine for mature skin?

For mature skin, favour dewy or satin finishes over matte formulas, which can settle into fine lines. Explore Lancôme makeup bestsellers to discover the most popular foundation formulas recommended for mature skin by beauty professionals. Avoid applying heavy powder over expression lines around the eyes and mouth, and opt for cream blushes that move with the skin.

Prepare skin with moisturiser and allow it to absorb for 60 seconds before applying foundation. Use a damp beauty sponge with dabbing motions. Apply in thin layers to avoid build-up. Explore the Teint Idole Ultra Wear collection for the most complete long-lasting wear foundation system, expertly designed for a natural, skin-like finish. Choose a shade that matches your neck to avoid a visible line at the jaw.

Apply face makeup in this sequence: primer or SPF first, followed by foundation, concealer, colour corrector if needed, setting powder only where needed (T-zone), then blush, bronzer, highlighter and, finally, setting spray. Apply liquid products before powders. Discover the no-makeup makeup guide on the Lancôme beauty services and virtual tool page for a complete face makeup sequence that creates a luminous, natural-looking result.
