preparing for your wedding

Wedding Make-up

As the Mother of the Bride, we want to make sure you look your best too. We have chosen a look that’s natural, youthful, and glowing – but doesn’t totally steal the limelight!

Step 1: Prep skin

Apply an eye serum around the eyes followed by a face serum to prep the skin ready for make-up application. Lips need prepping too – apply a lip primer so lips are well nourished before you apply the lipstick.

Next, apply a rich moisturiser (we recommend Visionnaire for mature skin) and apply a moisturising primer for a radiant, hydrated base.

Step 2 – Apply the Foundation

Use a long lasting foundation and mix with the hydrating primer before applying it to skin to create a sheer coverage without compensating on longevity. Use concealer around the eyes and on any areas that need more coverage (i.e corners of the nose, blemish marks).

Step 3 – Add warmth and colour to the skin

Set the base with powder in a neutral shade to reduce shine and fix makeup in place, being mindful to not flatten the makeup and keep the glow.

To add some colour, apply a darker shade of powder or bronzer to the high parts of the face where the sun would naturally hit. Next, apply blusher (we used Blush Subtil in shade 011 Brun Roche) on the tops of the cheeks to add dimension but not too much colour.

Step 4 – Add shadow to the eyes

Prep the eyelids with an eyelid primer to illuminate the eye contour and add wear and depth to your shadow. Choose a natural toned shadow palette (we used the Hypnose Matte Palette in 108 Beige Brule which was also used in the Natural Bride look), and add a wash of the mid tone brown all over the mobile lid. Blend the same shade under the lower lash line also to open the eyes up.

Step 5 – Add definition to the eyes

Blend brown pencil eyeliner along the lash line to add definition and fake the appearance of thicker lashes.

Step 6 - Add a look of volume to your lashes and pencil your brows

As the mother of the bride you are almost guaranteed to shed a tear! Make sure you are prepared by coating lashes with waterproof mascara, which helps to separate and lengthen the look of lashes.

Define your brows with an eyebrow crayon in a natural shade.

Step 7 – Line the lips

Line and fill in the lips with lip liner for shape and definition before applying colour.

Step 8 – Voila!

Finish the look by applying lipstick – we used L’Absolue Rouge shade 06.
